Our Designer

The Japanese aesthetic comes from a very different cultural and historical perspective and the sense of sobriety and proportion are very difficult to imitate. We are very pleased to be able to offer designs that are done by a Japanese designer who worked for many years in Tokyo before settling in the UK and so from the concept through to completion we aim to offer authenticity, integrity and the attention to detail that one would normally expect from Japan.

Getting the ball rolling

Clients who would be interested in having a design done for a room or a series of rooms can call us to arrange an appointment for viewing and for discussing the parameters of the design brief. The first meeting is free of charge and there is no obligation at this point to commit to anything further.

Designing and costs

After the first meeting and at the clients request Kuniko Kataoka will draw up some design concepts and present them for consultation with the client. This is a simple plan view showing a suggested layout of the room and this is supplied free of charge.

Following this the client can then ask the designer to draw up more detailed plans showing front and side elevations and this design work is charged at an hourly rate of £40 plus VAT.

When all the details have been agreed a costing for the whole project will be submitted and then when this has been agreed we will start the process of making and ordering to bring the project to fruition.
